  • Strength and Durability

    Our case has significantly increased strength and durability over freely available .stl's. The thread and case walls are significantly thicker and the threads have been completely redesigned. I wanted a case for myself that I could throw in a gear bag and not worry about breaking. This is that case.

  • Heat-Resistant Material

    I print this case in heat-resistant ABS plastic that will not warp or melt in a hot car like PLA. The ABS is heat resistant to a temperature in excess of 200°F. Manufacturing using this filament requires an enclosure and filament dryer to print reliably.

  • Premium Quality

    This is a premium and durable product, not a cheap, 3D-printed trinket. It is almost a half pound of ABS empty and with a BCG inside, has the heft of a classic maglite. I designed my own custom threads that are optimized for 3D printing (reduced overhangs for better quality prints). I included thread-starting features to make the cap easier to screw on. In short, this is a premium, well-designed product you will enjoy using.

Strength Comparison

Before I designed the Lepanto BCG Case, I just wanted to find a free .stl design and print it for myself. I found the best available free design, printed it, and then on the way back from the printer, accidentally dropped it from about 3 feet onto a tile floor. The free .stl BCG case broke in half at the threads. This was a huge disappointment, due in large part to a design flaw in the free .stl case. That is what set me down the path of designing my own case that I could just throw in a gear bag and not worry about breaking. If you'd like to design your own case, go for it!
